About Me

For 25 years I have been studying the effects of natural and artificial light on the biological rhythms of humans and animals. After several years of my own research, I advised research groups around the world during field projects.
Since 2012 I have been preparing information about artificial lighting and light pollution for experts and interested laypeople of all ages, initially as a coordinator for public relations in the interdisciplinary research network Loss of the Night at the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries in Berlin.
Since 2016 I have been working as a freelance lecturer, author and consultant. I have also been working as a medical lecturer since 2017.
